Activate is a technology company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming experience. We are looking to expand our Manufacturing team with the addition of a Production Team Lead. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations, this position will be responsible for leading the production team by overseeing the operation of pick and place machines, reflow ovens, various hand soldering tools, and occasionally 3D printers. This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday 7:00 am- 3:00 pm

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Minimum of 1-year experience with electronics soldering and hardware assembly
  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years in a related field

Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Coordinating employee responsibilities and work flow
  • Lead employees through coaching and training, setting up an effective training process for new employees
  • Streamline processes and practices for simple but effective facility operations
  • Leveraging leadership in decision making for the team as needed
  • Foster communication between employees and senior management to ensure staff are aware of, and updated on schedule/changes
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

Machine Operation

  • SMT Line Operation
  • Pick & Place Machine ( Small SMT VP-2800-HP )
  • Reflow Oven ( Neoden IN6 )
  • Air Compressor
  • FDM Print Farm Operation
  • 3D Printers ( Prusa MK3S+ )

Fabrication & Assembly

  • Use various hand and power tools to complete game component assemblies based on part drawings and assembly guides
  • Update component assembly guides as changes occur
  • Prepare small-batch wiring harness orders for concept prototyping

Preventative Maintenance & Repair

  • Completion of scheduled machine maintenance
  • Operation of reflow station to fix defective boards
  • SMT part inventory management
