The Team Leader is responsible of managing two machine lines on each shift, for the strategic coordination of team members on the production line to achieve the desired level of efficiency. The Production Team Leader is not only a qualified Team Leader and is also an experienced machine operator capable of making independent decisions and solving problems in the absence of supervisors. Some other tasks include:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two or more years experience as a machine operator, ideally in a food processing plant.
  • French and English (to serve our internal and external customers).
  • Must be team oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Be able to manage a team in proper manners.
  • Experience working on packaging machines in the food industry is a great asset.
  • Able to work in a cold environment .
  • Able to handle loads from 20lb to 40lb.
  • Basic knowledge of GMP, HACCP and SQF environment.

Responsibilities:

  • You will report directly to the Production Supervisor. You will ensure the proper operation of the machines under your responsibility and that the final packaged products meet the required quality and production process standards.
  • Direct and coordinate assigned group of employees to ensure that goals are met in a timely manner.
  • Manage absenteeism and report any team issues to supervisors.
  • Work directly with the Maintenance department and Quality Control department to address downtime or issues.
  • Ensure that the equipment is ready to start production or that it is properly shut down and disassembled before washing.
  • Replace the wrapping roll and feed film to the machine.
  • Monitor parameters and speed then adjust for proper seal, gusset, and speed.
  • Notify supervisors if there are any malfunctions with equipment that would require service technician intervention.
  • Ensure that GMP and safe work standards are always followed and report any irregularities or deviations to the Supervisor.
  • Ensures that equipment and work area are kept clean.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Lift and unload cartons of raw material at the filling station.
  • Examine raw materials to verify compliance with Quality Control standards.
  • Ensure that safety and sanitation regulations are respected at all times.
  • Assist with other general labour tasks related to production needs.
