Description:
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree (i.e. Engineering, Textile Engineering, Textiles or related) or two years relevant experience of working in a production environment (i.e. textile manufacturing, industrial food processing, coatings application, or materials fabrication).
- Experience operating sensitive machinery.
- Systematic and detail oriented thinker with good problem solving skills: able to invent and find unusual solutions to unusual problems.
- Reliable and trustworthy with solid time-management skills.
- Proficiency in office & communication tools (G-Suite, MS Office).
- Strong interpersonal skills - able to work with and support team members from different backgrounds and disciplines.
- Have a passion for sustainability, bio-materials, fashion tech and/or the circular economy.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The following skills and experience are not required for the role, but would be beneficial for a successful applicant:
- Experience with textile manufacturing processes including; R2R Processes, Coating, Embossing, and associated process equipment.
- Experience in materials quality control with testing equipment and protocols.
- Experience working in a lab environment (e.g. chemistry or microbiology lab).
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are searching for a new key member of the team who enjoys making and producing materials, who is hands-on and capable. The ideal candidate will take pride in executing their assigned work in a precise and accurate way. You will be keen to continuously improve and adapt with evolving processes and equipment. Working closely with other teams to produce custom bio-fabricated samples, you would support our material development and provide feedback to drive development. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, shaping the future of textiles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce the highest quality material on our pre and pilot production lines.
- Operate, maintain, and arrange servicing and calibration of production equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring quality and consistency throughout the production process.
- Maintain a clean, professional and presentable production environment. Executing daily cleans and preventative maintenance.
- Collect and log precise production data and present to the team.
- Work closely with the team to ensure a seamless production workflow.
- Keep an up-to-date production stock inventory and order supplies.
- Help research and source machinery and tools.
- Follow and ensure high standards of health and safety, wearing all the necessary PPE required.
- Assist with improving SOPs and risk assessments.
