Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Recruitment and Staffing, the Professional Compliance Specialist will develop systems and strategies for administrative processes revolving around ESL certification, emergency certification, renewals, compliance monitoring, recordkeeping, reporting functions, and new hire certification orientation meetings.

EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a concentration and or certification in human resource management is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a fast-paced HR department (customer service, recruitment, HRIS, employee relations, benefits administration). The candidate must also have experience in senior level management support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:

  • Extensive knowledge of the RIDE educator licensure regulations or willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of school system operations in relation to licensure and compliance requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and with a sense of urgency, to plan and coordinate process flows, to adhere to deadlines, and to see projects and tasks to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to correspond accurately and effectively through written and oral communications.
  • Experience and proficiency with standard office equipment, including personal computers, and software (Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Access and Excel), and electronic human resource information systems. Experience with Lawson, AESOP, and Novatime preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of School Department staff and well as various internal and external contacts.
  • Knowledge and skills to build positive relationships with people from diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Highly Organized.
  • Experience working with senior managers and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to meet the needs of district staff.
  • Confidential.
  • Possess and consistently model excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Bilingual preferred.
