EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a learning and development, curriculum development, instructional design, or human capital work environment, ideally in a social services or behavioral health setting.
  • Experience with a learning management system preferred.
  • Experience teaching or public speaking preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, & PowerPoint. Ability to operate job-related equipment including the use of basic computer programs and systems to effectively carry out the duties of the position.
  • Proficiency with planning, organizing, and developing training calendars. Strong verbal, written, editing, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and/or revise instructor-led and online trainings, including but not limited to:
  • Analyze data to assess curriculum, learning and instructional needs,
  • Collaborate with instructors and subject matter experts to develop course content,
  • Develop and edit instructor manuals, presentation materials, handouts, infographics, and other relevant teaching tools,
  • Use of e-learning authoring tools, as well as knowledge of multimedia learning best practices and graphic design to create online content.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training classes, including the learning management system (LMS) training and other courses such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, Cultural Competence and Communication, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI), and Characteristics and Needs of Individuals Served, Ethical Decision Making in Catholic Community Service, and How We Work Operations Orientation.
  • Create the block calendar that provides for the quarterly and annual training needs of Catholic Charities employees.
  • Coordinate and record the evaluation of efficacy of professional development programs (questionnaires, surveys) and uses the information to guide further planning for workshops and PD programs.
  • Analyzes data to facilitate the development of best practices and determine instructional needs.
  • Train new instructors in Professional Development administration practices, content presentation and facilitation, and learning technologies.
