Description:

Salford, Trafford and Talking Therapies are excited to recruit two Professional Nurse Educators (PNE) to work across the Care Group. We provide care within inpatient and community services, including adults of working age and older adults, so the role will cover nursing staff from a range of clinical areas and patient groups.
As a Professional Nurse Educator, you will facilitate and support the clinical, professional, and educational development of the mental health nursing workforce, including registered nurses, international nurses, students and nurses in preceptorship, and healthcare support workers.
Working as part of the Nursing and Quality Team, you will have extensive clinical experience and provide expert knowledge and clinical leadership, focussing on education, development and staff well-being.
You will enable the application of evidence based and best practice through effective teaching, coaching and clinical supervision to support a skilled and competent workforce within a psychologically safe learning culture.
Your role will support the quality, safety and effectiveness of the care we provide, improving patient outcomes and experience.
You will link with GMMH Research and Innovation Team to support and encourage research activity within the service.
There will be expectation to travel between areas to deliver this role and be based on site for your working week.
The post is suitable for a registered mental health nurse with clinical and leadership experience at Band 6, and preferably with a Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) Qualification.

Facilitate and support the clinical, professional, and educational development of mental health nursing workforce colleagues (including but not limited to registered nurses, international nurses, student and nurses in preceptorship and healthcare support workers) across the Salford, Trafford and Talking Therapies Care Group, within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Enable the delivery, and evaluation of a programme of clinically relevant practice education to support professional development. The focus will be in enabling the delivery of high-quality patient/person centred care that is grounded in evidence-based practice and underpinned by national, organisational and trust objectives, guidelines, and policies.
Provide expert knowledge and clinical leadership to the clinical team, facilitating the application of theory to practice within a designated clinical setting, across adults of working age and older adults.
Promote effective and safe practice, through training and supervision that enables staff to deliver physical and mental health care which is evidenced based and meets national and local guidelines and standards.
Provide support to the Nursing and Quality Team to ensure the Trust carries out its duties with respect to the Improvement Plan, focussing on Preceptorship, International Nurses and development programs for nursing staff wishing to progress in their careers
