JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Doctoral degree in Psychology.
• Active registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa strictly as a Registered Counsellor or Research Psychologist
• Ten (10) years teaching experience in the field of Psychology or Seven years of work experience as a Registered Counsellor/Research Psychologist.
• Minimum of Fifteen (15) publications in DHET-accredited journals.
• A minimum of 4 master’s and 1 PhD student supervised and successfully graduated.
• Ability to attract funding.
• Knowledge of Problem-Based Learning Principles will be an added advantage.

The successful candidate will accept responsibility for the following:

• To teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Psychology.
• To supervise Level 4 and postgraduate research projects (Honours, Masters, and Doctoral).
• To accompany, monitor and supervise students on practicals.
• To demonstrate examplary leadership in the Department as well as the Faculty.
• To co-ordinate programmes, develop the curriculum as well as establish linkages with various stakeholders.
• Infuse entrepreneurship in the curriculum.
