The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Basel and the Heart Centre of the University Hospital Basel are announcing the position of a Professor of Cardiac Surgery in conjunction with the position of Head of the department Cardiac Surgery.
The professorship is affiliated with the Department of Cardiac Surgery, which is an integral part of the Heart Centre at the University Hospital Basel. The department of Cardiac Surgery serves as the primary provider of academic cardiac surgery services for all north-western Switzerland and beyond. The University Hospital Heart Centre is home of the esteemed “Cardiovascular Research Institute Basel” (CRIB), renowned globally for its contributions to cardiovascular research. The research focus of the vacant professorship is flexible and open. However, transplant surgery research cannot be pursued due to lack of HSM approval for transplantation.
