Description:

Responsibilities:

The person selected to hold the new professorship position will chair the newly formed Department of Cell Biology and Human Disease. The professorship is affiliated with UDE’s Faculty of Biology, jointly with the Medical Faculty . Further associations exist with faculties at RUB and TU Dortmund, as well as with ISAS in Dortmund.
The successful candidate will have an established and internationally competitive research portfolio and work on a current topic of molecular cell biology that bears relevance to human disease, including cancer. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, cytoskeletal dynamics, chromatin-related regulation, and mechanisms of proteostasis. The teaching load is reduced to four hours per week per semester, and members of the associated group may be involved in the classes.
Applicants should complement and strengthen the Research Center One Health Ruhr and expand the existing strengths of the ZMB and the Faculty of Biology. Participation in the Collaborative Research Center 1430 “Molecular Mechanisms of Cell State Transitions” (https://www.uni-due.de/crc1430) is desirable.
