Our products include seasoning blends, dry mixes, coating systems, dough blends, crumbs, flavors, sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of application from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals. Our customers include food processors, restaurant operators and grocery retailers. POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Profitability and Pricing Manager is responsible for managing and improving the profitability of the Griffith Foods Canada business unit in alignment with our company strategy. The role delivers business analytics and develops recommendations to senior leadership and Sales to guide key business decisions with a direct impact to our company performance and strategy initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferably Master’s Degree.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Excellent analytical, computer and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead analytical support for senior leadership, Sales, and other internal stakeholders to develop and execute value-added pricing strategies and business proposals.
  • Support sales with pricing activities focused on margin improvement; business analytics and sales reporting. Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for pricing action. Recommends and develops improvements to the existing pricing process, guidelines, and strategies.
  • Oversee departmental policies that ensure pricing team actively participates in recommending target pricing strategies/guidelines at the client level to achieve desired business results, and through regular analysis, identifies and implements actions needed to pursue profit improvements. Continuously reviews and implements improvements to the existing pricing process, guidelines, and strategies.
  • Develop and implement long and short-term business and pricing strategies to effectively achieve profit and growth objectives.
  • Develops and executes profitable pricing strategies and business proposals in alignment with our company Purpose and strategy through collaboration with senior leadership, sales, purchasing, product development, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Develops financial scenario models and proposes pricing options based on value-add, market and competitive information to drive financial performance.
  • Leads execution of account profitability analysis and price review process as needed using Protocols system and reports to maintain or improve profitability.
  • Leads sales volume budgeting process and assists in financial forecasting through effective collaboration and communication with Sales and detailed analysis.
  • Develops budget pricing plan to ensure all cost escalation is covered in pricing action to protect Griffith margin.
  • Ensures new business activities achieve contribution margin and gross margin targets, and challenges sales to provide rationale on quotes below company guidelines.
  • Develop and implement metrics to guide resource investment and support key business decisions to drive our Purpose-driven strategy forward.
  • Ensures system pricing agreements are in place and up-to-date.
  • Leads by consistently setting clear direction; Defines goals and priorities and develops a high degree of trust through demonstrated personal integrity, ethics, and a commitment of doing the right thing. Energizes others to commit to achieving the highest standards; establishes and maintains an environment that encourages everyone to act in the best interest of the company.
