Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Gold Center, the Program Administrator will provide support for key initiatives within our Gold Center, Early Childhood Program (ECP) Clinic, and various research-related activities. This incumbent will play be responsible for the approval processes for educational certifications, manage the admissions process of the graduate certificate and the administration of the certificate program, expanding clinic activities, providing grants to researchers, administering fellowships, and organizing symposiums and guest speaker events. The Program Administrator will be coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with faculty, students, and external collaborators to ensure the smooth execution of these important programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform and organize activities to support the goal of increasing activities at the Gold Center.
- Drive efforts related to the primary priorities within the Gold Center, ensuring that all activities align with strategic objectives.
- Administer the certification process for the Early Childhood program, including completing the necessary administrative tasks for approval.
- Collaborate with relevant departments and stakeholders to facilitate the admissions process and certification approval process for students in the Early Childhood program.
- Assist in the expansion of activities within the ECP Clinic, supporting the clinic’s operations, outreach, and growth.
- Plan events related to symposia, including venue, scheduling, organizing travel and logistics for guest speakers.
- Work with Faculty Advancement to prepare reports for Donors and to increase support for Centre activities
- Perform other administrative tasks, general office duties and aiding other projects as needed (including document preparation, scheduling meetings, and managing communication between faculty, students, and external partners).
Other Qualifying Skills and Abilities
- Minimum 2-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Experience with Workday, McGill Market, BSAC and experience with academic programs is an asset.
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative, attention to detail, independence, and critical thinking skills in solving problems.
- Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment and interact positively an effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4.
