Description:

WHO WE ARE

The Muslim Legal Support Centre (MLSC) is a pioneering organization dedicated to ensuring equitable access to legal services and fair treatment for Muslims within the legal system. Our mission is to increase access to justice for Muslims across Ontario by offering legal information, education, referrals, and summary legal advice while addressing systemic injustices.
Discrimination against Muslims in Ontario is on the rise, with the intersecting impacts of poverty, racialization, and Islamophobia leaving this diverse population particularly vulnerable. The MLSC was established to address the day-to-day legal needs of low- to middle-income Muslims and to empower them with the tools and support needed to navigate the legal system. Since our inception, we have supported thousands of individuals through public legal education sessions, pop-up clinics, and personalized legal services.
Rooted in a community-based and collaborative approach, the MLSC recognizes the diversity within Muslim communities while addressing shared challenges. We focus on the legal needs of Ontarians who self-identify as Muslim or are perceived as Muslim, fostering justice and equality through responsive, culturally competent services.
