Workday: Monday - Friday,
Work hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Hours may vary
Location: Guadalupe Community Center, 1801 W. Cesar Chavez Blvd, San Antonio, TX. 78207

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma
• Strong background in working with children and youth a must; preferred to be studying or have obtained an education degree and/or have the work experience.
• Program planning and facilitation experience an asset
• Ability to work with children in a respectful and empowering manner
• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong community outreach and public relations skills and ability to liaise with community partners and leaders
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed
• Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Must be able to work outdoors for more than 3 hours.
• Must be able to walk 2-3 hours during work hours.

License and Credentials

• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver license
• Valid vehicle insurance
• Must have clean driving record

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Travel requirements for the position includes 10% local and 0% overnight.

• Group supervision of youth with attention to the following: program goals, health, happiness, discipline, cleanliness, safety, routine duties, character and skill development.

• Assist in developing, carrying out, and evaluating program curriculum.
• Maintain appropriate records and statistics, and complete reports and evaluations as per guidelines.
• Complete service planning and assessments with students and parents.
• Assist with coordinating and implementing field trips and outings.
• Create open lines of communication between parents and program staff.
• Manage student attendance through software applications.
• Manage drink/snack/food stock utilizing San Antonio Food Bank donations.
• Manage supplies and organize daily activities based on curriculum requirements.
• Exhibit positive, professional, personal habits such as appropriate dress, speech, table etiquette, manners, and relationships with others that serve as a beneficial model to youth.
• Other duties as assigned by Program Director, Associate Senior Director and Senior Director.
