QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a 2-year diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 years of work experience in office experience; academic experience in an online educational department is an asset
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and online courses is an asset.
  • Knowledge of program areas offered by PPL is an asset – Business and Computers, Health and Community, and Education.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Banner or similar ERP as well as MS Office Suite including Word and Excel.
  • Resourceful in assessing and solving problems in a pro-active, self-directed manner with tact and diplomacy.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position provides specialized technical and operational support to an identified program area within Professional and Part-time Learning (PPL), working closely with the responsible manager and other operational staff.
The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support for programs and courses delivered as part of the Nursing Transformation Initiative (NTI). The incumbent will support the responsible manager with a number of administrative tasks including compiling and maintaining a variety of statistical reports related to NTI operations, tracking OntarioLearn enrolment trends, checking for duplication of instructor assignments to ensure there are no conflicts, tracking financial data, assisting with reconciliations and generating any other operational reports as requested by PPL leadership.
In addition, the incumbent serves as the first point of contact for NTI students and potential students. The incumbent is responsible for recommending appropriate referrals and examining and determining the correct course of action to be taken for the student. The incumbent is also the main contact for all NTI instructors and acts as a key resource and assists them with their inquiries. In incumbent also represents PPL at various recruitment events such as Open House as well as external community events and conferences (i.e. Nursing Week events).
The incumbent works with other departments and Faculties in order to provide optimum service to students. The incumbent also provides administrative support and backup support to other program assistant functions when required. The incumbent is to be flexible in busy periods, especially during semester start-up, and assist all other members of PPL with overflow work when required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Some evening and weekend duties required including evening office coverage as well as assistance with events as such Open House, Program Information Nights, convocation, orientation etc. In addition, during peak periods, evening office coverage may be required.
