Description:
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a talented professional for the role of Programs Communication Manager.
The purpose of this position is to support the Regional Communications Director in the implementation of the global-regional communications strategy and the regional program framework, by offering analysis, advisory, and services aimed to understand and generate change within key internal and external audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above.
- Years of Related Experience: 7 years or above.
- Fully bilingual English - Spanish.
- Formal studies in communications (journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing) or related field.
- Lived or professional experience working internationally on a global team and/or within an INGO on international development.
- Ability to write, edit, evaluate and curate appealing content related to international development while meeting brand, marketing and messaging needs.
- Capacity to manage relationships with different stakeholders at different levels, with ability to articulate needs and agendas into strategic solutions while serving common purposes.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural competencies and organizational and project management skills that demonstrate an ability to successfully collaborate with a variety of departments and stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- PROGRAM COMMUNICATIONS: Analyze and understand programmatic priorities and key audiences, in order to devise and implement the required communications plans aimed to contribute to the success of Habitat LAC divisional objectives, enhancing the work of technical areas such as programs, advocacy, partnerships, volunteerism, and resource development. Ensure increasing understanding of key aspects of Habitat’s program approach internally and externally, by breaking down complex and technical concepts into an understandable and relatable narrative to key internal and external audiences. Help to articulate the connections between high-level strategy and on-the-ground impact.
- INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS: Play an active and participatory role in the Global Program Communications Team, providing support as needed, while ensuring to obtain deeper understanding of the global comms structure and HFHI communications strategic priorities.
- PARTNER & DONOR COMMUNICATIONS: Understand Resource Development needs and partnerships in the region, and design appropriate communications strategies in order to support fundraising activities, while also ensuring adequate brand positioning and representation in different markets and with different stakeholders. This will require to coordinate with relevant departments within the Global Marketing and Communications Division.
- NETWORK DEVELOPMENT: Help to maintain and strengthen the relationship with communications representatives amongst the network (NO, TCIS) and constantly seek ways to improve their technical capacity and performance, in the light of HFHI’s programmatic priorities and those from the local organization.
- OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Closely work with the regional Communications Director, supporting and representing its position when required, in order to ensure the success of the regional and global comms objectives; by providing new thoughtful ideas, supporting decision-making processes, seeking and analyzing data, and constantly reviewing information from internal and external audiences. Other related tasks as required.
