POSITION SUMMARY

Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine’s Working Forward initiative. As such, this position’s work location is designated as remote with monthly meetings onsite. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit’s business needs.
The Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in our organization, supporting the business operations of the Dean’s Office. This position is responsible for managing the School of Medicine’s (SOM) parking allocation as determined by the University. The Program Coordinator works closely with departmental parking coordinators and the University parking office to address the parking needs of faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Parking Management: Manage the overall allocation of SOM parking spaces consistently following established guidelines.
  • Collaboration & Problem Resolution: Work with departmental parking coordinators and the University parking office to meet parking needs and resolve issues.
  • Training: Train new departmental parking coordinators on policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Regularly updates departments on changes in transit policies and issues from the University parking office & updates the SOM employee parking website as needed.
  • Data Entry: Responsible for submitting all SOM requests to the University accurately, referencing information available across a variety of platforms.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reporting on usage and trends.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound business judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels of the School and University.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple tasks with ease.
  • Versatility to handle a wide scope of responsibilities, from transactional duties to high-level decision-making.
  • Proven track record of working independently and as a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed customer expectations, even in situations when the answer is no.
  • Ability to handle challenging interactions with empathy and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Suite; quick to master new software platforms and adept at navigating multiple databases.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in a higher education environment.
