Job Description:
Reporting to the Associate Director, International Programs, this position is responsible for coordinating contract-group programs and supporting international programs, partnerships, and study abroad activities within the Global Department. The Program Coordinator, International Programs and Partnerships will support the Internationalization of the College by facilitating initiatives that help integrate an international or intercultural dimension into the way we teach, learn, and provide services, in order to enhance the educational environment for all students and employees.
Responsibilities include supporting and building international relationships, analysing and utilizing market trends and data; supporting the needs of students, faculty and staff; supporting and assessing intercultural programming; supporting international opportunities for students, faculty and staff; coordinating the design, development, delivery and evaluation of contract-group programs; and supporting Deans, Division, and Department Chairs’ international field schools and study abroad activities. The Program Coordinator oversees all incoming and outgoing international visits, prepares confidential briefing notes and trip planning for senior leaders, and ensures visit logistics are followed in line with the Global department operational procedures and protocols.
Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • Specialized training in international relations, intercultural communications, program development, travel and tour operation, or other discipline related to the area for which the position is responsible.
  • Minimum 4 years work experience related to program design, development, and coordination, student support and advising, budgeting, instructor hiring and training in a cross-cultural educational setting.
  • Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) certification or equivalent preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including intermediate word processing, spreadsheet and database management, and enterprise Customer Relationship Management systems. Demonstrated proficiency in web and print publishing software an asset (e.g., Content Management Systems, Adobe Illustrator, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program/course development, scheduling, market characteristics and supervision, and evaluation practices.
  • Experience using a learning management system (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace) to support students’ learning.

  • Ability to communicate in another language is an asset (e.g. French, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean).

Working Conditions

  • Will be required to work some non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Vacation time will need to coincide with low service periods and not in conflict with other staff vacation requests.
  • Position may require standing for long periods of time as well as transport promotional materials, display stands, and other items for promotions, events, and activities.
  • May be required to travel nationally and internationally.

$40.75 - $59.77 per hour

Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat (PSEC).
