Description:
SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator will join Catholic Charities Community Services (CCCS) as part of our growing Hudson Valley programming. The Program Coordinator will coordinate, manage, and oversee the day- today operations of the ONA Opportunity Center in Rockland County and will also provide direct immigration legal services under attorney supervision, including consultations, application assistance, and follow-up services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate the promotion of services offered by the Opportunity Center throughout the local area, including by developing and disseminating flyers, brochures, posters, and other materials related to programs and events offered by the center.
- Manage relationships with partners, sub-contractors and volunteers involved in providing program activities, and be a main point of contact between the Opportunity Center and stakeholders, clients, and the community.
- Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers for citizenship classes, administrative support and other ONA Center programs and activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate immigrant family support groups twice a month in the evenings.
- Coordinate Know Your Rights presentations and other community workshops for immigrants.
- Provide on-going support and coordination of Opportunity Center activities to ensure appropriate engagement of clients.
- Track and report attendance, assessments, and schedule appropriate space for hosting workshops, training sessions, citizenship classes and other project activities.
- Under the supervision of an attorney, participate in regular screenings for those at the ONA Rockland Opportunity Center.
- Under the supervision of an attorney, prepare, review, complete, submit, and follow-up on applications in routine types of immigration matters, including but not limited to: relative petitions, naturalization applications, adjustment of status applications, applications for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), employment authorization applications, green card applications, green card replacement/renewal applications, and Temporary Protected Status applications and renewals.
- Research law and investigate facts to determine possible course of legal action and to prepare cases accordingly.
- Assist clients to obtain the documents necessary to apply for relief, fill out appropriate forms, and follow up with clients via phone, mail, and email.
- Create and maintain physical and electronic files, including managing correspondence with clients and documenting correspondence with immigration and other agencies.
- Manage data entry in internal (LLX) and external data management systems (as designated by ActionNYC) and assist with generating reports.
- Maintain and report statistical data as required.
- Regularly meet with supervisor to review contract deliverables and timetables.
- Attend inter-office meetings as well as outside agencies meetings as appropriate.
- Monitor budget expenditures, order office supplies, complete expense reports and ensure fiscal accountability.

- Travel at least 50% of the time using public transportation or vehicle, traverse city streets, occasionally ascend/descend stairs and be exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Remain stationary at a workstation and in meetings and use a computer at least 50% of the time.
- Remain stationary and/or ambulate to instruct and monitor during trainings and presentations.
- Carry a laptop to offsite work locations
