DESCRIPTION

The Program Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of specialized clerical duties in support of the Chemical Dependency Program. The Program Coordinator supports the leadership, administrative and clinical teams. Position will also support operations of departmental programs and projects. Duties focus on assisting the team members with project support duties, such as tracking goals and outcomes, expenditures and program information; producing statistical and summary reports; scheduling; coordinating events; developing written materials and answering telephones and correspondence.
The Program Coordinator tracks and reports on adherence to practice guidelines related to patient access and clinical documentation, toxicology, group capacity, productivity, trends related to patient attendance and transitions through levels of care.
This position is also responsible for monitoring front office operations as it relates to patient flow and access to services and supports the Manager and Clinical Supervisor with data requests and other administrative functions as needed.
Work at this level typically involves a variety of complex clerical tasks requiring substantial knowledge of the department’s work commitments and projects. Considerable independence and initiative is involved in determining how the work is performed and appropriate actions to be taken and also involves complex data support services with statistical and ad hoc reporting, financial/budget assistance and other specialized responsibilities requiring a depth of knowledge in the provision of SUD services and use of specialized tracking tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and take a leadership role to accomplish objectives
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows-based programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree
  • 3 years Behavioral Health experience with a health care related organization
  • Knowledge of CPT and diagnosis coding and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and managed care
