ABOUT US

The Clinical Skills Learning Program (CSLP) has been developed in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry to provide students, residents and faculty members with a learning resource which would otherwise be unavailable to them. Simulated Patients (SPs) are people who have been carefully coached and trained to simulate an actual patient, including the history and physical findings, socio-economic and educational background, emotions and personality characteristics. SPs offer a readily available and standardized tool for teaching new communication and interviewing skills, refining those skills and evaluating learner performance, which allows for teaching and assessment of skills in an experiential and problem-based manner.
