Responsibilities:
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills and ability to “read the play”.
- Ensures the PMs plan and coordinate all aspects of the project from initiation through to delivery i.e. Project governance, change control, financial management practice, issue and risk management, procurement / supplier management, schedule, milestone and deliverables management, project acceptance, sign-off, PIR transition to operations, handover to support function, stakeholder management (including technical product development teams).
- Constantly listening to the client with the view to ensure client satisfaction in parallel to sourcing new business opportunities.
- Manages project initiation activities including identifying contractual obligations, client or business needs and goals, existing situation and necessary contacts.
- Develop consistency across the team for the definition and execution of project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables.
- Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles.
- Anticipate and ensure project risks are managed, issues / problems and activity progress to ensure project goals, e.g., deadline, scope and quality are achieved. Assist with problem resolutions or risk mitigation as needed.
- May manage the integration of vendor / subcontractor tasks and track and review vendor/subcontractor deliverables, if appropriate for the project.
- Serves as liaison between internal organizations as well as in client and vendor / subcontractor organizations to ensure all projects targets and requirements are met.
- Leads the delivery of steering group and executive client informational and decision seeking presentations. This includes internal FIS presentations to update internal stakeholders.
- Conducts project closure activities to formalize and communicate the project acceptance, project retrospective and a postimplementation review to identify areas of improvement.
- Directly oversee employees assigned to manage specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure that efficient operations of the function.
- Identifies project management coordination gaps or areas for improvement and recommends and implements solutions.
- Establish an effective working relationship with our offshore development centres and other functional business units e.g. pre-sales and line of business.
- Performs other related duties as required.
