The University Portfolio Management Office is looking to appoint a Program Director, Sustainable Teaching and Learning within our Portfolio Management Office (UPMO) on 18-month fixed term period basis.

Join our team as the Program Director, Sustainable Teaching and Learning, where you’ll lead a transformative, multi-year program to embed sustainability principles into teaching and learning at UTS. This strategic initiative aligns with our broader goals for operational sustainability and curriculum excellence, delivering a sustainable core curriculum that drives educational innovation and operational efficiency. Key focus areas for the program include:

  • Curriculum Transformation: Redesigning course architecture, assessment principles, and teaching guidelines, with a digital-first approach and emphasis on GenAI-era assessment reform.
  • Course and Subject Alignment: Utilizing performance data and strategic insights to prioritize courses and subjects for transformation.
  • Portfolio Strategy Development: Defining the university’s desired course portfolio, including delivery modalities and target audiences.
  • You’ll collaborate with diverse stakeholders, oversee governance, develop business cases, manage priorities, and drive impactful reporting to integrate sustainability across the university’s educational frameworks

Required Skills and Experience We are seeking an experienced leader with a proven track record in managing strategic programs and delivering complex, and transformational initiatives within dynamic organisational environments. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to craft and present clear business proposals, reports, and presentations to diverse audiences. Strong planning, organisational, and time management abilities, combined with expertise in project management methodologies and governance, are essential. You will be results-driven, adaptable, and skilled at navigating complex stakeholder interests and expectations, with experience managing multiple work streams concurrently. Prior experience delivering complex programs in the higher education sector, particularly within teaching and learning environments, is highly desirable.
