Description:
The Martensville-Warman Early Years Family Resource Centre (MWEYFRC) offers programming, services and resources for all families with young children, prenatal to age five. The MWEYFRC aims to provide families with positive early learning experiences as well as opportunities to connect, grow and learn together in an inviting, safe and supportive setting.
The Program Facilitator will be responsible for welcoming families into the centre, ensuring positive family engagement and delivering meaningful programming. The MWEYFRC is an advocate for equity and is committed to ensuring representation in its community. The centre values diversity amongst its staff.
Job duties will include:
- Developing and implementing program activities in collaboration with the Centre Coordinator and other staff.
- Facilitating engaging, age-appropriate learning opportunities for children, prenatal to age 5, and their families.
- Building relationships with caregivers
- In collaboration with other staff, creating an environment that is welcoming, inclusive and accessible for diverse families. This includes new parents, caregivers, single parents, low income families, Indigenous families, children with varying abilities, and new Canadians.
- Being a part of the day to day operations at the centre (organizing, cleaning, planning, data recording and other tasks).
- Assisting in promotion, communications and outreach as needed (may include attending community events, assisting with social media and other tasks).
Required skills and competencies:
- Education and/or training in the area of Early Childhood Education (Level 1, 2 or 3), Social Work or equivalent
- First Aid/CPR Certified
- Experience working with children 5 years of age and younger.
- Experience working with families
- Ability to take initiative in planning and implementing relevant and applicable programs.
- Ability to be flexible and creative in order to meet the needs of families accessing the centre.
- Works well collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Complete tasks efficiently
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to think outside the box
- Fluency in languages in addition to English an asset
- Access to reliable transportation
- Successful criminal record check including the vulnerable sector search
Location: The MWEYFRC is currently operating in Warman and will be moving to Martensville in September 2024.
37.5 hrs/week- serving the Warman and Martensville areas
$16.75-19.75 per hour depending on education and/or experience
