    The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for delivering the Aviation Meteorological Services (AMS) portfolio, which provides the aviation industry with specialised meteorological services contributing to efficient and effective aviation operations within the Australian Flight Information Regions and the Asia-Pacific Region.
    The Bureau’s Aviation service provides aviation users with meteorological information necessary for safe and efficient civil aviation operations. The service includes the provision of observations, forecasts, warnings and advisories, and is provided within the technical and regulatory framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
    The Program Governance Manager sits on the ASD Leadership Team and will lead the set up and running of a Program Governance and Business Process support function which will be responsible for embedding an ALMT wide approach to change governance.
    The role will also be responsible for portfolio insights and analysis to the key governance forums, for the control of key portfolio governance artefacts and for defining and managing the relevant program business processes with respect to change and portfolio management.
    The Program Governance Manager will work closely with the General Manager and National Managers, as well as the Aviation Services Development (ASD) Leadership Team to embed strong governance and financial practices across the portfolio. The role will also lead a support team that supports the Governance function and work closely with the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) to assist with the establishment, oversight and quality assurance of program reporting.
    The Program Governance Manager will build strong and productive relationships with the wider ALMT Extended Leadership team to create a collaborative program community. This positive relationship is critical in enabling both an objective view of program performance and building program delivery capability.
    This position would suit an applicant with experience in project/program within Aviation Services as well as knowledge/experience in Agile and or Waterfall methodology. The candidate must be able to prepare high quality written material including project plans and reports.
