Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Program Instructors to join our team at YMCA Camp Cullen. Nestled on the beautiful shores of Lake Livingston, our camp offers an extraordinary outdoor education and recreation setting. The successful candidates will lead, facilitate, and ensure the safety of a variety of outdoor activities such as archery, slingshots, axe throwing, canoeing, survival skills training, and more. In addition to daytime activities, they will also be responsible for leading evening programs and campfires.
This is an onsite position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible providing the highest quality of guest services for all our campers. Responds to and anticipates the needs of our campers, checks in guests, checks out guests, provide loaned and rental equipment from the front desk or as a delivery service to the guests cabins. Operates the camp store. Provides meal delivery. And depending on shift time may need to facilitate evening activities and set camp fires. Embody the five core values of the YMCA of Greater Houston.

Responsibilities:
- Welcomes guests and co-workers and provides excellent customer service by responding to questions and concerns
- Presents to the guests in clean, designated uniform with impeccable hygiene
- Acknowledges guests needs and provides effective and efficient solutions
- Provides security for the YMCA, ensuring the safety of guests, and co-workers while at the Camp Cullen. To include, but not limited to:
- Responding to situations with the possibility of removing members or non-members who act inappropriately, threaten or present a danger to others
- Responding to all incidents within the Y and completing Incident Reports
- Follows all YMCA policies and safety procedures
- Understands all emergency procedures, acts responsibly during emergency situations, and completes appropriate incident reports
- Completes business transaction related to the payment of, programs, services, etc. as required
- Accurately handles cash, checks, and credit cards and balances daily receipts
- Reports any facility needs; calls maintenance or logs work orders in facility dude, ensures that the cleaning crew is notified to vacated rooms or specific issues requiring their attention and ensures amenities are replenished.
- Has passed the UTV driving course and follows policies related to vehicle use
- If working the morning shift, ensures that any pertinent information is communicated to the afternoon shift
- If working the morning shift, ensures that the building and operations are opened and accessible to guests
- If working the morning shift, ensures that report for the day regarding check ins and check outs are available and reviewed
- If working the afternoon shift, ensures that any pertinent information is recorded and accessible to the morning shift
- If working the afternoon shift, ensures that the building and operations are secured and not accessible to guests at the end of the shift
- If working the afternoon shift, ensures that a report for the following day regards check ins and check outs have been produced
Due to the nature of our business having busy and quit periods of operation, at times some flexibility on hours may be required
