POSITION OVERVIEW

The Operations Program Manager is accountable for the success of large strategic initiatives and projects that are typically of moderate or high complexity and primarily encompass multiple functions. They plan, execute and implement to deliver intended business outcomes, on time, on budget and within scope according to business priorities. Throughout the lifecycle, the PM ensures consistent, reliable, and transparent execution, with line of sight for all key stakeholders. They possess the professional skillset and scaled leadership to simultaneously manage a portfolio of key initiatives across multiple business segments and geographic regions, aligning and mobilizing diverse teams of functional owners. This role focuses on the North American brands for Hunter Douglas Supply Chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and OWN all aspects of project life cycle. Manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost and quality. Monitor project spend and validate financial forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement “right sized” project management processes that best fit the needs of the project and align with organization project standards. Create project management artifacts as appropriate for large strategic and complex projects (example: project schedule, communication plan, resource plan, requirements, project charter) and represent project at governance meetings
  • Communicate and present concise updates to executive leadership team. Build relationships and quickly earn the trust of key stakeholders.
  • Able to lead project teams through ambiguity and change to swift decision-making and urgent action.
  • Connect project messaging and reporting to strategic business initiatives. Develop communication plans and interfaces to actively engage internal business partners, teams of external partners, and members of the executive leadership team. Ensure communication with PMO and Executive leadership is proactive, professional and concise.
  • Continually identify, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate project risks. Rely on methodic risk management tools. Actively manage risk with urgency.
  • Manage and communicate any high complexity changes to scope, schedule, and budget and communicate appropriately to stakeholders.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, driving collaboration and performance. Provide oversight and control of any external resources contracted to the project. Provides sufficient motivation to “get the job done” without major disruptions.
  • Ensure project results have an articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit. Holds self accountable for overall project success and consistently seeks opportunities to exceed project goals.
  • Enhance Project Management as a core competency within the organization. Identify improvement opportunities and develop enhancements or new processes based on best practices. Coordinate with others in PMO and the organization to implement process changes
