Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Develops, plans, and manages all school/unit program(s) or project(s) activities. Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program. The Program Manager for the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship – Houston Galveston (ASFHG) would assist the Executive Director in mentoring Fellows as they complete their one-year public health projects and take the lead on the recruitment of new Fellows and run all Fellow for Life programming, ensuring the Fellowship has excellent candidates for the ~90 Fellow positions from the 22 Consortium Schools.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversees all aspects of recruitment and Fellow for Life engagement activities. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project progress. Develops, implements, and manages policies and procedures.
- Informs upper management of key activities and makes periodic progress reports.
- Works closely with internal departments regarding strategy and collaborative opportunities.
- Acts as a Public Health Mentor to assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of Fellow projects (reviewing monthly reports and public health models, creating connections to partner agencies, facilitating mentor team interactions).
- Assists in the preparation of progress reports and grant proposals to private foundations and individual donors.
- Works with the Faculty Liaisons from each of the 22 Consortium Schools and all Academic and Site Mentors to ensure communication is clear and consistent
- Communicate with the community and professionals to share objectives and outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
At least a Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education. Graduate degrees are preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of applicable experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
