Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Program Manager, M1/M2 Basic Science Curriculum - Boca Raton, FL.

The Program Manager, M1/M2 Basic Science Curriculum, will work with a team of course directors, faculty, and staff to deliver and manage this basic science curriculum for our medical students.

  • Coordinate pre-matriculation assignments and orientation sessions for students.
  • Collaborate with course directors to ensure that courses are implemented and managed effectively. Proactively manage daily course activities, including session scheduling, space assignment, educational supplies, technology support, creation of educational materials, and their distribution to students and faculty.
  • Regularly schedule and direct course management meetings to ensure that all administrative tasks are identified and completed in a timely manner. Prioritize tasks for each course, identify action items, and develop appropriate timelines for their completion. Update course directors regarding progress as well as other members of the Office of Medical Education team as applicable.
  • Plan course schedules in collaboration with the course directors and ensure accuracy is maintained.
  • Oversee learning management systems for all basic science courses to ensure accuracy and proper organization of materials, as well as timely access for students.
  • Oversee, maintain, and update student course rosters. Work with course directors to assign students to class activities and groups as applicable.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, students and staff who have questions or concerns with administrative aspects of the basic science courses. Work with all stakeholders in a consistently responsive and professional manner.
  • Identify potential course management problems or obstacles, consider possible solutions, and seek assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate regular course faculty meetings and ensure that meeting materials are distributed in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with coordination and preparation of all quizzes and exams across the basic science curriculum. Learn and maintain proficiency in exam administration platforms and processes. Support exam coordination and administration in other areas of the curriculum as needed.
  • Proctor exams across all years of the undergraduate medical education curriculum.
  • Securely maintain and archive graded assignments and assessments for each basic science course, and assist with coordination of course grading committees.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Program Evaluation and Assessment team to coordinate evaluation of the basic sciences courses, and distribute feedback to faculty.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement activities, including coordination of meetings, participation in identifying improvement strategies, and implementation.
  • Oversee curriculum databases and appropriately archive course materials.
  • Support course directors in completing curriculum mapping processes for the basic science courses.
  • Assist with procurement processes for basic science curriculum resources and maintain inventory of needed supplies. Assist with payment processes for other areas of the curriculum as requested.
  • Assist the Office of Medical Education team in developing, updating and documenting standard operating procedures for administrative processes.
  • Serve as the administrative supervisor for the Basic Science Medical Education Specialist. Assign appropriate duties, monitor performance, and provide training and feedback as needed. Complete human resource processes as applicable, such as approval of leave requests and other tasks.
  • Oversee College of Medicine room reservations, ensuring appropriate space for educational activities across all curricular years as well as for other purposes and stakeholders within the College of Medicine as requested.
  • Attend and support College of Medicine and medical education special events as needed.
  • Complete special projects and/or other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience; OR an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in appropriate area of specialization and three years of experience; OR a high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability and attention to detail.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a setting with multiple ongoing tasks and competing demands.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders within the university and health care community.
Ability to respect and navigate sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality in all matters required.
Consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
Experience in medical education is highly preferred.
Salary:
$55,000 per year.
