    Where the team fits in
    The Program Manager role sits within the Financial Services business that build integrated, trusted and personalised experiences to find and finance property.
    The role sits across the Broker facing tribes who support our Mortgage Choice consumer experience and Broker network. This is a complex, dynamic and fast-paced environment with significant focus as it forms a key enabler of our Financial Services strategy.
    What the role is all about
    As Program Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of several major product development projects, the effective operation of many critical business services, the development of a significant team, and the relationship with our international delivery partners.
    You will take the lead to ensure that projects are scoped, planned and resourced appropriately. You’ll be responsible for managing program schedules, managing scope and priorities, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged, managing risks and issues and coordinating releases. You will manage your team’s budget and have accountability for cost and resource optimisation.
    You will form a part of the leadership team for your area and will be jointly accountable for the health, engagement and performance of your teams. You will contribute positively to the culture of your teams, build engagement and morale, be involved in recruiting, set structure and processes and generally help build and maintain a high performing team.

This Program Manager role includes responsibility for the Broker Experience within the REA Financial services division, including many critical systems both strategic and legacy. The successful candidate needs to be able to build and drive a high performing team culture, maintain high quality technology standards while managing stakeholders across the company as we continue to modernise and reimagine how our Mortgage Choice business evolves.

  • Accountable for delivery for identified projects and initiatives across Financial Services.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Product, Design Managers and tech counterparts as part of the leadership teams for each tribe.
  • Play an active role in the Financial Services Senior Product and Tech Leaders team.
  • Be a strong people leader, and leader of leaders, supporting both our humanistic and high-performance culture.
  • Monitor, control and report on progress including prioritisation to ensure effective delivery of initiatives.
  • Proactively identify potential project risks related to operations and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure optimal management and utilisation of all resources allocated to the tribe, including human, system and financial.
  • Accountability over Capex and Opex Expenses in line with the portfolio budget.
  • Manage, negotiate and execute on third party related IT services and/or products relating to the tribe.
  • Manage stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Champion key agile practices to continuously improve existing tech delivery methods and processes.
  • Work with functional leads and product managers to initiate new programs, maintain existing systems and manage defects according to our Operational Management guide and Systems Health Framework.
  • Foster an environment of learning, openness, and honesty where people behave in line with our REA Values.

Who we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience leading technology teams in Program Management, Delivery Management or comparable role.
  • Experience in decommissioning systems, data migration or building out CRMs
  • Significant experience working in a software development environment.
  • Significant experience leading technology teams
  • Extensive Agile experience alongside Jira expertise.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Vendor and partner management experience.
  • Workshop and facilitation skills to drive successful outcomes.
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills.
  • An understanding of the operational and technical aspects of complex systems.
