Job Description
The Programs Producer is an integral member of the Sky News Arabia programming team, responsible for producing a specific segment of our news coverage. You will work under the guidance of an Executive Producer to create and shape content, including writing scripts, selecting visuals, sourcing guests, developing graphics, and managing tasks for both television and social media platforms.
Your primary responsibility is to produce innovative, high-quality news content while adhering to Sky News Arabia’s editorial standards and values. Although your focus will be on television production, you’ll also embrace digital platforms, including online and social media, to create cross-platform content and develop collaborative workflows.
Key Responsibilities

Produce distinctive and engaging news coverage for Sky News Arabia’s program segments.

• Work under the direction of an Executive Producer to deliver high-quality, stylish news coverage.
• Write scripts for on-air talent, edit visuals using newsroom production systems, source guests, and commission graphics.
• Ensure all content aligns with Sky News Arabia’s editorial guidelines and values.
• Collaborate with other producers, the news desk, and online teams to foster a cohesive approach to news gathering and content delivery.
• Generate and produce video content across platforms.
• Create and coordinate daily multimedia stories for Instagram and Snapchat, utilizing a network of talents across the region.
• Demonstrate strong ability to manage live broadcast programs and participate in news coverage.
• Produce social video stories on location and coordinate Live broadcasts from the office or in the field.
• Work within a rotating shift pattern, including nights, to support a 24-hour news channel.
• May be required to produce content on location in Abu Dhabi, the Middle East, North Africa, or internationally.

Key Skills, Experience and Education

BA in journalism or a related social science field.

• Previous experience at a national or international broadcast news channel.
• Proficiency in newsroom production systems and desktop editing.
• Experience with cross-platform content creation and a solid understanding of the challenges and benefits of such an approach.
• Broad journalistic interests, covering areas such as social issues, international politics, public policy, world affairs, science, and the arts.
• Proven experience in television news production and digital content creation.
• Skilled in video production, graphic design, and post-production processes, with a solid understanding of video editing software.
• Strong editorial judgment and journalistic integrity.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering clear, creative, and concise storytelling tailored to different audiences.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
