Description:
For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness.
Riverdale Osborne & Ocean Bay Community Centers provides health and service fairs, direct access to case management services, health and nutrition workshops, youth internship programs, volunteer opportunities, and a client choice food pantry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3 years of relevant experience in Workforce Development, Human resources or business related fields required.
- Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends) as necessary.
- Able to travel throughout the five boroughs as needed.
- Ability to read computer screen for long periods of time.
- Ability to utilize public transportation, climb stairs, walk
Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate the participants of the SYEP including but not limited to the development and implementation of all aspects of the program in accordance with the DYCD program goals and work scope; maintain targeted enrollment; monitor and address participant retention.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with the NYC DYCD and other entities as required e.g. NYS DOL.
- Creates and distributes promotional materials to recruit program participants and to inform businesses of the program.
- Assesses each person’s special needs and skills, their work experience and identify workforce needs.
- Using an Individual Employment Plan, determines suitable job or business consistent with applicant’s desires, aptitudes, and physical, mental, and emotional abilities.
- Facilitates job readiness and job search workshops, as well as support groups, utilizing other partners as needed
