Responsibilities:
The Faculty of Business and Law and the School of Law are seeking to appoint, on a secondment basis, to the post of Programme Area Lead (Law - Academic Courses). The secondment is available on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2027. You will have a substantive contract (fixed term or permanent) that must not expire before the end date of the secondment period.
As a Programme Area Lead you will work with the School Executive team to help shape and implement strategic priorities in the relevant programme areas. Together with the Programme Area Lead (Law – Professional Courses) you will be responsible for the School’s portfolio of courses. The Programme Area Lead (Law - Academic Courses) role will focus on the portfolio of undergraduate courses (other than apprenticeships) and academic focused postgraduate taught courses. These activities will form approximately 60% of the workload for this role.
This role is a senior member of the School and is key to the University’s strategic vision to engage every student in a life-changing experience.
This leadership role is an excellent opportunity to support all of the leadership attributes of the University, with a particular emphasis on ‘leading by example’ and ‘facilitating collaboration’.
The role provides career development opportunities to acquire experience, skills and knowledge that are beneficial to career enrichment and career progression. The role provides experience of academic leadership and citizenship which will help support promotion applications in particular through contribution to the leadership of the department and to School level strategic planning and/or policy development.
