Description:

Duties/Pligte

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • For the global collaboration and capacity strengthening component, the incumbent will play in a key role in coordinating a suite of capacity strengthening activities aimed at co-producing and using pre-clinical and early phase living systematic reviews, simultaneously. The coordinator will identify LMIC postgraduate students and LMIC early- and mid-career researcher volunteers for participation in the project.
  • Organising capacity building activities and meetings for all three programmes (including scheduling and onsite, hybrid, and/or remote meeting logistics as required).
  • Organising and facilitating Unit meetings and assisting with any electronic requirements.
  • Coordinating activities for the three African postdoctoral fellows appointed on the project.
  • Recruitment of postgraduate student volunteers on the African continent.
  • Record keeping.
  • Assisting in composing and providing data for annual progress reports.
  • Communicating programme and event updates.
  • Financial administration for all components, i.e. procurement, reimbursements and assisting with advances for participant recruitment.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations, institutional policies, and sponsor requirements governing project deliverables, as well as financial policies of the institution.
  • Coordinating and liaising effectively with the leadership of the Consortium and members of work packages to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
  • Performing other administrative assistant duties and ensuring that enquiries are handled timeously as needed.
  • Ensuring that staff contracts are renewed and processed correctly. Liaising with Human Resources as needed.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • Honour’s degree or higher in any area of mental health, public health or epidemiology.
  • Experience in conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and with related software (e.g. Covidence) and tools (e.g. RoB).
  • A good spoken and written command of English.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Very good computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Very good organisational skills.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

  • Knowledge or experience of project management.
  • Experience with project report writing and/or grant administration.
  • Experience working on international collaborative projects.
  • Experience of the University’s SUNFin system.
