    We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to support the EU Last Mile Launch and Expansion team. The successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for managing strategic large scale cross functional launch and expansion programs and new strategic initiatives. These will include a conception and execution of a number of new sites across the EU. Projects will include partnering with real estate, engineering, finance, design and construction, public policy and other stakeholders to help expand the network of Amazon Logistics nodes in the EU to facilitate the organization’s growth plans, and other cross functional Supply Chain, Transportation, Engineering & Infrastructure initiatives. You will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable leading large, complex, cross functional programs. To be successful in this role, you will have a true hands-on approach, will demonstrate strong ownership and project management skills, and will be an effective communicator up to the senior management level. The successful candidate will continuously show a think big attitude and will look beyond their direct scope of responsibility. The person taking this role should be a team player and should regularly seek ways to make an impact that reaches adjacent teams in the EU and improves the team’s overall performance.

Key job responsibilities

  • Find practical and simple solutions to complex problems without sacrificing quality.
  • Write and review business cases using information acquired from the stakeholders. Drive business decisions by creating data-driven, coherent and convincing business cases. Be responsible for taking the project through critical milestones to achieve business goals.
  • Manage several competing priorities and ensuring critical projects remain visible to all stakeholders whilst maintaining a plan for less urgent matters.
  • Dive deep into various work streams and learn about each stakeholder’s contributions and challenges.
  • Prioritize projects with biggest impact on our business, propose and obtain approvals from relevant functional leaders on time.
  • Take accountability while providing regular status updates, mitigating risks, dealing with ambiguity, and effectively escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintain the overall project schedule that enables the teams to be successful based upon the project milestones and targeted project launch date.

About the team
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.

Meanwhile, our ‘on the road’ people work with a network of delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services.   • Experience of Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques
  • Relevant experience working in a supply chain, logistics, or operations environment
  • Experience in conceptualizing and implementing operational or supply-chain management improvements
