Description:
We are looking for a best-in-class Programme Manager to join our PMO Delivery team. CMC is rapidly changing. With our mission to become a multi-asset Prime Broker of the future not slowing down, the PMO function is the glue that holds together a portfolio of complex commercial, operational and regulatory projects. We are looking for a Senior Change Leader to join our team of 13+ Project Managers, to help drive Delivery and enhance the performance of the function – with our goal to become a world class team. You will report directly to the Global Head of Delivery and have real scope to put your stamp on the way we work at an extremely exciting time for the business.
Programme Management
- Take ownership of input into the business change roadmap for designated programme of work, regularly updating it to ensure it accurately reflects the status of all business change projects. With support from other senior staff, help ensure that all appropriate projects go through the business change process.
- Help instill good project management discipline through continuous process improvement, underpinned by a suitably pragmatic approach, across all business teams at CMC.
- Agree and execute suitable high level reporting format for the designated programme, showing key project delivery milestones and the associated revenue projections, for regular circulation to Exco and the Board.
- Work with the Finance team to align revenue and cost estimations for business change projects with the group’s financial forecasts.
- Support with the line management and personal development plans for direct reports within the team
- Act as delegate for Global Head of Delivery on key forums where required
Project Delivery
- Work alongside the Head of Business Functions to deliver end-to-end strategic business projects requiring coordination from numerous business areas to achieve a common business objective
- Proactively manage risks and issues and agree suitable mitigation or corrective actions as needed
- Proactively manage project dependencies to ensure the overall project timeline remains on track
- Identify gaps or overlaps in projects and negotiate scope adjustments not only with the corresponding project managers but also with executives and sponsors.
- Identify gaps in business processes and suggest correction strategies
- Resource planning and forecasting
Leadership
- Work in a leadership capacity within the team to drive best practice and improve processes within the function.
- Train and mentor new team members and undertake any required line management duties.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- An experienced Programme Manager with track record of managing multi - disciplined complex projects
- Previous experience as a Programme Manager or Senior Project Manager is essential
- Experience within Financial Services is essential
- Experience in both Technology Development and Business Change initiatives is essential
- Best-in-class stakeholder management & communication skills
- Experience in working in regulated environments
- Proactive in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
- Advanced problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision, taking ownership of tasks large and small
- Attention to details
- Flexible and adaptable approach to change
- Good understanding of project management methodologies
