About us
The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience’s Education Support Team is looking for a Programme Manager to offer high-quality administrative support to taught programmes within the School of Academic Psychiatry.
About the role
The Programme Manager will be responsible for the operational management of a cluster of Postgraduate programmes within the faculty. The Programme Manager will provide leadership and line management to Programme Officer and Senior Programme Officer roles ensuring that University and Faculty priorities, timelines and policies are met. In addition to the ‘business as usual’ operational delivery the post holder will also be working closely with the Senior Programme Manager to support and manage specific projects, both within the faculty and wider college.
The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the student lifecycle and the administrative support that is required to deliver an outstanding student experience. Motivated by the challenges and opportunities facing higher education, highly organised and flexible in approach, the post holder will have proven skills in managing numerous tasks and prioritising workload. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is attention to detail. Experience of online learning environments and the SITS/E:Vision student records database would also be beneficial but are not essential with relevant experience.
Comfortable with working autonomously within defined boundaries, this role will suit a motivated individual who is keen to take the next step in their career.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
This post is based at the Denmark Hill Campus, and this is currently a hybrid working role, with a minimum requirement of two days in the office.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Previous Experience in Higher Education, showing progression and development of responsibilities, preferably within programme administration
2. Excellent communication skills including to ability to draft documents and correspondence, and lead/contribute to meetings
3. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and delegate tasks appropriately and work to tight deadlines
4. Experience of stakeholder management, and ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner; to understand their needs and facilitate discussion
5. Experience of managing staff; setting standards and developing high performing teams.
6. Experience of change management; being adaptable and responsive to a culture of continual improvement
7. Ability to work under pressure to complete a range of competing priorities, demonstrating resilience, and maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
8. Have a proactive approach, working independently and exercising professional judgement
Desirable criteria
1. A good working knowledge of Microsoft software, particularly Microsoft Excel and managing large volumes of data
2. Experience of using virtual learning to improve the education experience of staff and students
3. Experience of SITS/E:Vision student records
