The opportunity:
Join an exciting business transformation as the Programme Manager for the Procurement, Commercial and Supply Chain workstream. From business requirements to technology implementation, process change and business adoption you will lead transformative business initiatives that will drive efficiency and innovation across Leonardo’s Electronics UK Division. and
The role will have a mixture of home based and onsite working across our UK sites in Basildon, Edinburgh, Luton and Southampton.
This role is responsible for the delivery of a series of initiatives that will enable Leonardo UK Electronics to move further into the Digital age thus increasing our effectiveness and efficiency. These initiatives span the full product lifecycle from how we work with our Customers through to the how we integrate our external supply chains into our delivery process. Currently the candidate initiatives (Epics) have been identified and a business case created that defines the scope, costs and forecast befits for each one. The business case is expected to be approved before the end of 2025 and this role is responsible for delivering the Epics.
This role is also responsible for defining KPIs to enable senior stakeholders within the business to understand the status of project and that it is delivering the forecast business benefits thus enabling them to course correct if necessary. A significant part of this project phase will be delivered by externally contracted partners and they must be successfully managed with the support of the Leonardo IT team. Alongside project leadership to ensure milestones and objectives are achieved, change management and stakeholder engagement are vital elements of this role to ensure business improvements enabled by this solution are effective and the benefits to the business are realised.

What you’ll do as a Value Chain Management Programme Manager

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the VCM Product Owner to ensure that deployed solutions are fit for purpose on all sites and for all involved functions.
  • In conjunction with the VCM Product Owner, build relationships and influence internal stakeholders on all LMW UK Electronics sites
  • Maintain and update the Business Case through the project lifecycle
  • Manage any external subcontractor(s) that will contribute to the delivered solutions
  • Report project performance in full accordance with the company JTBE process at monthly Project Performance Reviews (PPRs)
  • Lead a multi-function Leonardo team to deliver the project goals on time, quality and budget
  • Identify and manage dependencies with other Future Factory project teams
  • Anticipate and manage risks to the project, respond to project changes and emerging risks, implement risk mitigation strategies where appropriate and ensure the Future Factory Programme Director is well informed of risk status.
  • Identify key milestones and track progress towards achievement of those milestones and a deliverable solution. Ensure on-time delivery.
  • Via regular engagement with stakeholders and key users, ensure that the developed solution is compliant with business requirements.
  • Develop and implement a deployment strategy including a communications plan and any other change initiatives deemed necessary to guarantee the business case is achieved
  • Drive the Transformational Change process necessary to ensure that our people will fully exploit the capabilities provided by the delivered solutions

What we need from you:

You really must have:

  • Experience in delivering a Business improvement initiative including the management of external partners
  • Ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team to deliver the required result
  • Applies professional concepts in innovative and creative ways to convert “Business As Usual” processes into efficient methods of working
  • Wide ranging knowledge and experience across the whole product lifecycle.
  • Able to engage with and influence a wide range of stakeholders up to SVP and UK MD level
  • Knowledgeable in change management and has experience of leading an improvement projects, demonstrating an ability to implement a change to working practices.
  • Ability to analyse emergent options to the implementation to ensure the those selected maximise returns to the business
  • Experience in contract generation, negotiation for either customer, or supplier focused would be an advantage.
  • Experience in either a commercial or procurement environment would be an advantage.
