JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Our client who is a Pan-African organization investing in the inclusion of Women in Social, Economic, and Public-life is looking to hire a Programme Manager will be the operational backbone of the organization, coordinating the design, implementation, and evaluation of several programmes and engagements aimed at supporting female owned and led businesses across Africa.
  • The ideal candidate must be familiar with the Africa venture capital ecosystem and wider entrepreneurial and innovation landscape across Africa, at various levels with deep interest and commitment to growing existing knowledge and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree (master’s or higher) in Economics, Investment Promotions, International Development, Business, Gender/Women’s Studies, International Relations or other related disciplines
  • 5+ years of operations and project planning in fast-paced environments within technology, startups, entrepreneurship and/or venture capital.
  • Strong experience with using data to make decisions and track results.
  • Outstanding ability to manage relationships at all levels of the organization and balance customer, project, organization, and team needs to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Experience creating and managing program timelines and plans.
  • Experience working with a diverse team.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances in rapidly changing environments.

Must have skills:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and visual)
  • Strong emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and a high level of empathy.
  • Resourceful & organized with great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to lead, influence, and motivate others.
  • Excellent networking skills.

Responsibilities:

Programme Management:

  • Working closely with the CEO, to plan and execute special projects to support Africanfemale founders, Programmes will range from but not limited to facilitating acceleratorprogrammes, building and growing the organization.
  • Connect community, coordinatingdelegations of African female founders to key regional and global events, planning andcoordinating high powered conversations and policy roundtables, coordinating highvisibility projects such as the organization’s podcast, support related research and contentindependently and working with internal team/ external contributors…etc.
  • Support the development of a strong pipeline of female-led and owned business on thecontinent
  • Manage programme calendar, timelines, budget, partners and related logistics
  • Support the continuous development and scaling of organization’s project.

Partnership Development:

  • Identify and engage potential partners, including donors, corporations, foundations,corporates, investors, networks, government agencies, and other organizations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners to secure support and resourcesfor programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with partners to align objectives, deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
  • Seek opportunities to expand and diversify the organization’s network of partners.

Community Building and Engagement:

  • Support the development of a vibrant online and offline community of African femalefounders.
  • Create opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, mentorship, and collaboration.
  • Actively listen to the needs of community members and address them effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase community engagement andparticipation.
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver value to the community.

Reporting and Evaluation:

  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, collecting feedback and insights forcontinuous improvement.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to communicate program impact to stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on program progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to share success stories and achievements.

Other Functions:

  • Perform all other related functions as required by management.
