The role
Programme Support Office Analyst
London or Manchester (hybrid working model, 2 days a week office based, 3 days remote)

Fantastic opportunity to join Smart DCC as a Programme Support Office Analyst in a permanent role. The Programme Support Office Analyst is a member of the Programme Support Office that provides value-add services and governance ensuring that programme and project plans can be delivered successfully. The Programme Support Office Analyst role includes a range of activities including project reporting and tracking, governance and compliance support, risk and issue management, programme and project documentation maintenance, tool and template management, stakeholder communication and administrative support to the programme team where appropriate.
What will you be doing?
- Data analysis and decision making. Proactive in identifying trends from data and implementing continuous improvement plans to address deficiencies.
- Identify and implement process improvements based on experience and evaluation of activities plus lessons learned from other programmes.
- Deputise for the PSO Manager as and when required at internal and external forums.
- Run programme support activities ensuring that meetings are planned with agendas, minutes, actions, and pre-reading sent to attendees in advance. Preparation and organisation will be central to everything you do.
- Own the management of risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) ensuring clear mitigations are in place.
- Produce reports within the reporting cadence and calendar ensuring content is accurate, relevant, and appropriate - maintain the ‘single version of the truth’ for your programme/portfolio.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of programme support, assurance, and governance processes. Develop structured templates and a controlled reporting regime and ensure effective project controls are in place for all projects and programmes.
What are we looking for?
- Good experience in a similar role with experience of working in complex, fast paced, Portfolio or Programme Office environments with strong working knowledge of best practice, risk and issue management, project governance, planning, budgeting, reporting and change control disciplines.
- Results driven, delivery focused PSO professionals to join our exciting growing organisation
- Broad experience of working in programme and project-based environments utilising recognised Programme and Project Management (PPM) methodologies
- Effective communication, collaboration and relationship development and management skills including having the confidence to effectively challenge others when and where appropriate
- Excellent analytical skills with and diligence and the ability to identify trends, help shape solutions to problems and appropriately prioritise activities.
- Proficient use of MS applications including Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio alongside data analysis and dashboard presentation skills – e.g. Power BI, advanced Excel.
- A well-established knowledge and understanding of programme or PMO practices.
