Description:

Applications are invited for the position of Programmer/ Analyst in the Information Technology Services division located at the Welland Campus. The salary range is $38.01/hr to $44.05/hr (Payband I) for a 40-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Enterprise System Services, this successful candidate is responsible for report development, PeopleSoft application programming and support, as well as in house developed software and other third-party applications. Performs as a part of a team of developers to design and implement technology and support users in all areas of the college.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum three (3) year advanced diploma/degree in Information Systems/Computer programming, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field of study
  • Minimum five (5) years experience organizing, analysing, designing, coding, and implementing systems and applications in a large multi-user networked environment
  • Proficient in programming languages, operating systems, networks, and applications software, including use of Java, C#, ASP.NET, Xamarin, SQL Server, HTML, XML, CSS, etc.
  • Working knowledge of layered software, databases, and structured environments.
  • Highly analytical with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines
  • Experience with PeopleSoft would be considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test, and debug software applications including PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Financials, Human Resources, and various custom developed web applications
  • Work closely with business analysts and/or functional users to understand user requirements and business objectives
  • Identify and resolve software bugs, errors, and issues by performing root cause analysis for problems and implement solutions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals and system documentation
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards
  • Manage individual tasks and contribute to project planning and scheduling
