Description:
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the design, testing, implementation, documentation and maintenance of computer programs for CPL staff and patrons. This position is a combination of project work and day to day duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary diploma in computer science or information technology or 3 years of directly related and demonstrated experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience focusing on Microsoft .NET C# development of web-based database-driven applications in Visual Studio environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and programming tools, as well as, experience of database design.
- Familiarity with test-driven software development is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Writes computer programs and software packages;
- Tests, debugs, documents and implements computer programs and software packages;
- Maintains and supports software packages for library staff and patrons;
- Analyses, designs and implement databases;
- Keeps up-to-date with relevant external developments through environmental scanning;
- Participates actively in activities and projects which support and enhance the accomplishment of system goals and objectives, as assigned;
- Other related duties.
