Description:
Grade 122- Placement range for a full SY is $63,325.00 to $72,372.00 (prorated to start date for mid-year hires)
JOB SUMMARY
Works as part of the district data team to support the Student Information System and other core district systems. Uses SQL Query language and other data tools to integrate 3rd party resources with the enterprise database. Provide user training, custom reports, and technical and operational support for district staff relating to the use of district systems. Primary duties include, data analyzing and integration, data imports from 3rd party systems, report and data creation and manipulation, and creation of data visualizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional duties may be assigned.
- Use data tools, SQL query language, scripting languages, to develop data integrations between the Student Information System and third-party platforms.
- Provide support to end users of the district Student Information System and other district systems as needed to troubleshoot problems, and create reports as needed.
- Use advanced tools in the Microsoft Suite/Google to manipulate data as needed.
- Maintain and demonstrate high standards of accuracy and integrity in all areas of data input and reporting.
- Monitor support cases involving the district Student Information System and other district systems including opening support tickets with vendors to ensure data is accurate and support tickets are resolved.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge and skill set for utilizing the district Student Information System as well as other district systems.
- Create data reports and visualizations for end users upon request.
- Assist with the validation and submission of state and federal reporting as needed.
- Code, test, and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology.
- Maintain the structure of the data that resides on the Microsoft SQL Server.
- Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and the approval of the appropriate supervisors.
- Write and maintain programming documentation.
- Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
- Reports the status and progress of assigned tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.
- System configuration backup for the Information Systems Coordinator.
- Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. (Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirements)
- 2-3 years demonstrated application experience programming.
- Demonstrated experience developing MS.Net applications.
- Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years working with database systems(MS SQL, .Net, etc)
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 2-3 years experience with state reporting and student information systems preferred.
- 4-5 years experience working with Microsoft applications (ex: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Several object oriented programming languages desired.
- The Computer Integrated Management Information System (CIMS)
SKILLED IN:
- Ability to accurately perform assigned tasks.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board Policies.
- Ability to promote harmonious working relationships with staff and outside business representatives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.
