Description:
We’re looking for someone who loves the natural world and wants to be involved in helping connect people with nature and our conservation work through our programme of activities and events.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, collaborative team and help create and deliver innovative programming to engage new audiences and inspire local communities.
Salary: £11.64 an hour
Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 28 February 2026
Hours: 18.75 hours a week. Includes weekend working

This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

What it’s like to work here:Wicken Fen Nature Reserve is a beautiful, wild landscape, one of Europe’s most important wetlands, and home to over 9300 species of wildlife.
We’re proud to be one of only 19 Children and Young People (CYP) Hubs in the National Trust, delivering a vibrant programme of activities including: school visits, family events and volunteer opportunities. One aspect of the role will be supporting our work with a local special school.
We’re also developing our nature connection work through our Arts Council England project: Listen to the Voices of the Fen. The Programming Assistant will support this project, in particular during summer 2025 when the sound installations are launched. What you’ll be doing:You’ll work as part of our Programming and Partnerships Team, supporting the creation and delivery of the property’s exciting programme of activities and events.
You’ll also report to, and work closely with, the Senior Programming and Partnerships Officer, helping the team with a variety of administration and hands on tasks, including some weekend working to supporting the delivery of activities
