Zurich Canada is looking for a Programs Pricing Actuary to manage the pricing or risk management process for the assigned line(s) and provides support and advice to the relevant chief pricing actuary, chief reserving actuary or risk officer and to the actuarial business partners. This includes daily consultations with Market Facing Underwriters and Underwriting Leadership and providing insights into risks, underlying performance and implications for the business. You will use your strong data management skills to work on mid to large complex risks – developing your knowledge of various property and casualty products with the accountability to resolve complex pricing problems. You will mentor junior actuarial staff and market facing underwriters.
This role is highly influential and will directly impact our ability to attract and retain business.
This is a hybrid opportunity.

What you will do:

• Lead/support the pricing of new/renewal business and development of effective premium/rating structures in complex environments and lines of Business.
• Manage profit margins on new and renewal business and lead analyses related to tracking, improving and monitoring portfolio performance.
• Coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analyses including trend analyses, reinsurance analyses and analyses of loss and expense reserves, as it relates to pricing adequacy and strategic direction.
• Collaborate with and influence Market Facing and Product Underwriting on strategic portfolio and individual account pricing decisions.
• Provide consultation and technical expertise on actuarial models and risk issues.
• Lead and drive the design, testing and maintenance of pricing models and tools.
• Interface with regulators and auditors on pricing issues.
• Remain current with regulatory/market conditions and apply this knowledge in pricing.
• Take a lead role in pricing accounts, performing risk transfer analysis, and reviewing collateral needs.
• May interact with external customers and clients through the pricing of large, complex products and individual

• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree
