Hours of Work: 36 hours per week. Monday through Friday with every second Friday free from work. 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Compensation: $73,360 plus a generous and comprehensive benefits package
Program & Location: Vancouver Gastown, with some remote workings as an option

About the Job:
Reporting to the Manager (Peers, Volunteer and Practicum Students) the Project Coordinator, Vaccine Hesitancy Program is responsible for the Vaccine & Immunization Peer Coordinating Program in a manner consistent with Atira’s mission, vision and values and in accordance with all legal, contractual, statutory and other requirements; helping develop and support a community-based vaccine education, promotion and peer led outreach project for women who have experienced violence, abuse and or other forms of marginalization. You will encourage non- judgmental discussion and education between peer workers and women accessing housing and or other support programs. This includes promoting vaccines uptake among women impacted by intersecting oppressions, with the understanding how interpersonal/systemic violence impacts vaccine hesitancy among women accessing supportive housing and other support services. You will also lead advisory group, art therapy and community engagement activities and help develop a best / promising practices document for community organizations to use when addressing vaccine hesitancy among the populations they serve. You will also be responsible for administrative and managerial duties.

You understand current best practice models in public health. You have a demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction, trauma- informed and violence-based care, cultural humility, and health and safety practices. You display comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and employ strong facilitation and conflict management skills. You utilize initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and achieve project completion. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present information to relevant stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and also with community stakeholders.

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related health profession (e.g., RN or NP) and five (5) years’ recent clinical experience as well as specific experience working in public health. Eligible for registration with the appropriate professional body, if relevant. Experience in community environments is a definite asset.
