JOB SUMMARY
The Project Accountant desires to learn and be involved in our core business through job costing, accounts payable processing as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The Project Accountant is a critical member of the accounting team and will be expected to take guidance from and support senior members of the operational accounting team. The right individual will have the opportunity to grow with our company with the possibility of evolving into a more senior role as the needs of the company expand.
The position is best suited for someone who is experienced in construction, well-organized who enjoys a fast-paced environment and has a variety of responsibilities ranging from compiling project invoices and project reporting to managing project bank accounts and resolving client and vendor inquiries.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education in accounting with 3-5 years Project accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of accounting processes and experience in a high-volume environment.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Word and Excel.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written) and demonstrated excellent customer service abilities and conflict resolution.
- Strong Organizational Skills – Able to prioritize tasks while still maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Experience with Cloud based ERP (Jonas Premier & Procore software) would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Review and approve project AP invoices
- Prepare monthly job reporting packages for review
- Assist in generating payment runs
- Handle vendor inquiries
- Liaise with onsite construction teams for coordination of various workflows
- Coordinate deliveries for project accounting items
- Produce monthly billing for Contract and T&M work with appropriate documentation
- Ensure project AP is processed in accordance with approval and payment timelines, setting up EFT for Vendors
- Timely communication with Client Developers to meet and exceed our contractual commitments
- Ad hoc reporting for internal and external Client Developers as needed
- Prepare T5018s for annual filing
- Prepare Credit Application
- Filing and general accounting administrative tasks as required
- Documentation and creation of SOP review for best practice
