We now have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Project Administrator, reporting to the Project Planning Manager, based at our Derby Head Office

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Project Administrator to support our Project Team in managing and planning engineering work across the country.
This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills, a good geographical understanding of the UK, and a passion for project management.
The role offers excellent potential for career progression, making it a perfect opportunity for someone who aspires to become a Project Coordinator and Project Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when handling project data and documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Geographical Knowledge: A good understanding of UK geography to assist in planning engineer work across different regions efficiently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using project management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and any other relevant tools.
  • Team Player: A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Desire to Progress: Motivated to grow within the role and work towards a future in project management.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in a project administration or coordination role, ideally within engineering, construction, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Experience with scheduling software or tools like MS Project, Trello, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Projects Team: Assist in the daily operations of engineering project planning and coordination.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Help schedule engineering work and site visits across various locations in the country, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and update project documentation, including work schedules, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between the project team, engineers, and clients, ensuring clear communication and timely updates.
  • Logistics & Planning: Assist in coordinating travel, accommodation, and necessary permits for engineers working across different regions.
  • Data Management: Keep records of project timelines, deliverables, and costs up to date, ensuring that information is easily accessible to the project team.
  • Problem Solving: Provide support in addressing logistical or scheduling issues that may arise during the planning and execution phases.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to processes to enhance project efficiency.
