Description:
Valard Construction LP is a premier powerline contractor, serving clients in both public & private sectors. We offer construction services in overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations.
Valard Construction LP is seeking qualified Project Administrator to join our team. We are looking for self-motivated, team player, dedicated individuals who are willing to work as part of a dynamic team that provides crucial support to Valard’s projects. This role requires a proactive and organized individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities and interfacing effectively with teams across various functions and locations.
REQUIREMENTS
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Project Team, acting as a liaison between project operations and the corporate office.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer calls and email inquiries.
- Data Management:
- Perform data entry and support in various areas, including requesting purchase orders, entering packing slips/tickets, and submitting and reconciling expense reports.
- Support the reconciliation and closeout of purchase orders in Valard Systems.
- Manage hard and soft copy documents, including updating Foremen Binders with new drawings/documents.
- General data entry as required, incorporating field data into reports.
- Document and distribute meeting minutes for various meetings.
- Vendor and Supply Management:
- Request new vendor setups and manage vendor-related processes.
- Order supplies and equipment as necessary.
- Project Documentation:
- Assist in opening and closing individual projects, including document population.
- Locate submission and management of project documents.
- Networking and Information Tracking:
- Develop contacts throughout the company to track down pertinent and essential information.
- System Utilization:
- Learn and use Valard Systems to complete day-to-day tasks.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Participate in Valard Safety programs.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and project-specific policies and procedures.
- Additional Duties:
- Apply for necessary services as required.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Project Manager.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Preferred 2 years’ experience in a related field of work in an administrative role.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience working on a construction site office would be an asset.
- Experience working with a utility company is a strong asset.
- Previous experience utilizing JD Edwards would be considered an asset.
- Exemplary knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs, primarily Excel.
- Experience with Toronto Hydro is an asset.
