PROJECT CONTRACT FOR COMMUNITY BASED TOURISM SUPPORT IN SOUTH AFRICA

We want to show that tourism done in a “right way”, means focusing on impact and meaningful experiences that offer communities new possibilities of self-realization and additional income to the existing income. Tourism will make a positive impact in the supported communities. Our aim is to support developing tourism besides the existing income streams and point out, that the traditional ways of making money should be appreciated and continued. Sustainable tourism should always be seen as an add-on and should never replace the traditional ways of making money for the community.
As our Community Project Coordinator for South Africa, you will face an inspiring challenge to expand V Social’s community efforts to South Africa, where your work will make a positive change in our supported communities.
We are convinced that sharing great moments at work allows us to grow stronger together. You will be exchanging with the local team of our partner organization Africaventura in Capetown and Limpopo, and reporting to our Berlin-based V Social coordinator, Marie.

NOTES

  • Time Scope: We are looking for someone available for 3 to 5 short field visits throughout the year, supplemented by approximately 10–15 office days. (project-based service contract.)
  • This search is conducted by the V Social Foundation, wheras the career page of Ventura TRAVEL can be used for communication purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve high impact with our support programs for local community development through tourism in South Africa.
  • Foster a trusting and joyful collaboration with South African Community-Based Tourism (CBT) organizations.
  • Implement targeted support measures in CBTs while ensuring sustainable independence.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of community support programs to maximize their effectiveness.
  • Provide consistent reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability to the NGO coordination.
  • Keep our donation partner, Africaventura, regularly updated, making them proud of the positive impact they’re creating in South Africa through V Social.
