COMPANY OVERVIEW
The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of project support/coordination experience in an IT environment
- 3+ years experience in financial services industry
- Experience managing project financials – actuals, invoice reconciliation, identifying variances
- Experience using Jira and Confluence tools
- Experience supporting large transformation projects and tracking risks and issues
- Governance experience – ensuring all artifacts are completed, approved and accurate
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in an ongoing changing environment
- Experience in financial services and technology.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
ROLE SUMMARY
The project control officer (PCO) assists with the coordination of projects and programs within the portfolio in addition to the administrative duties within the PMO. The scope of the role includes assisting project leads in building schedules, resource coordination, budget and invoicing handling, stakeholder coordination of meetings and minutes and compliance with PMO governance for projects of all sizes.
This role should deliver extensively organized schedules consisting of both time and resources within delivery time frames and budget. Ideal candidates will be analytical and have a positive demeanor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with project submissions, following PMO methodologies
- Collects data needed to support PMO office
- Maintains and tracks project submission log for status and other reporting
- Logs, monitors and controls project scope change requests
- Conducts quality review of artifacts before migrating them to a repository
- Facilitates the resource management process between PMO and resource managers to ensure supply meets project demands on a weekly basis
- Coordinates project meetings review status/escalates issues for corrective action.
- May support the educating of staff unfamiliar with PMO methodology to facilitate smooth processing
- Follow-up on team member delivery of status reports
- Identify problems/issues and escalate as appropriate
- Help PMO investigate and follow-up on timesheets, invoices, which include proper coding, review of costs, matching to contracts, etc.; review monthly financial reports to submitted timesheets/invoices, query unexpected charges and obtain supporting documentation, investigate missing charges, track status of requisitions/SOWs
- Participate in project meetings
- Works with PMO staff to help them update and maintain current and accurate project schedules and budgets. Reconciles allocation of resources with resource effort actually working on project tasks
- May assist business in preparation of business cases when applicable.
